about

One of the most enduringly popular medieval tunes, the manuscript is held at the British Library. Like
so much music from the period, only a single line of music survives. Nonetheless, this piece is a sonic window into the complex tonal heritage of much medieval music; Turkish or Arabic flavours are clearly audible in the tune, even without our interpretation.
